This downloadable digital PDF pattern includes detailed, full-color instructions for making a reversible quilted coat. Choose between a classic or scalloped hem and finish your coat with either a collar or a hood. The relaxed-fit design is intended to comfortably fit over clothing and is not a fitted jacket. The pattern includes 8 sizes (XS–4X), making it easy to find the fit that's right for you.
Printed full-size A0 templates (33.1" × 46.8") are also available for an additional charge and will be mailed to you. Just be sure to select "with Printed PATTERN templates (full size at A0 size)" above when purchasing because the default is a Downloadable Digital PDF Pattern. I print them in bulk with my printer to get a better deal for my customers. (Note: FedEx Print Services charges $24 to print the 2 page - A0 file in 2024. When purchasing the printed pattern, you will also get access to the digital pattern for free.)

Sizing Note: Choose your size based on your body bust measurement. The finished coat measurements include generous positive ease for a relaxed-fit coat designed to be worn over clothing. Because every quilt is unique, the finished fit will vary. Thinner quilts tend to fit larger and drape more, while thicker quilts with loftier batting will fit slightly smaller.
Materials Needed:
- Quilt - About 60 inches x 90 inches

- Coordinating thread
Tools Needed:
- Sewing machine (basic straight stitch)
- Basic Notions: Scissors, Pins, Rotary fabric cutter, mat, ruler, Iron and ironing board

The Pattern contains detailed instructions with color pictures. Pattern has been written for a quilter using only basic sewing and quilting techniques (NO set-in sleeves or other jacket tailoring techniques). Basic sewing and quilting skills are recommended. Free Quilt-As-You-Go and bias binding tutorials are available on my YouTube channel.
The pattern does not require any drawing. Print templates using standard 8.5"x11" paper or use the A0 Large Print format option (33.1"x46.8"). If printing pattern templates on standard 8.5"x11" paper: tape them together in numbered grid order overlapping the pages as indicated on the pages by matching up the diamonds. If printing pattern templates on standard A0 Large Printer paper, make sure you are using a printer or printing service that can print A0 at 100%, no scaling, verify scale by using the 1 inch square on the pattern templates.
